Lesson auto progression is a handy enhancement made to facilitate better consumption of resources.
When a user is on the last page of a current lesson, he / she would see a link to progress directly to the next available lesson, quiz or assignment. This enhancement will especially speed up the process of how learners consume content on Teamie. Not only will they be able to navigate quickly to the next resource, but also will they be informed at all times about the resource they need to consume next. This enhancement is also in spirit of keeping the learner engaged as they no longer have to navigate to the next resource from the materials page.
This article will guide you on:
1. Click Materials of a classroom.
2. You will be landed on the classroom's defaul tab (Either Posts or Materials, as per the site configuration). On the materials listing page, click a lesson you wish to read.
4. The lesson will be expanded. Click on a lesson page to read it.
5. Navigate to its last lesson page.
6. When you are on the last page of a current lesson, you will be able to navigate to the next lesson expanded view or open quiz or assignment landing page. You can click the button to navigate directly to the next material. On the last page of a lesson:
- Lesson button will take you to the expanded view of the next lesson
- Assignment button will take you to the expanded view of the assignment
- Quiz button will take you to the quiz taking page
The link to progress to the next material will be shown only in the case of the last page of a lesson and not for an assessment (online quiz, assignment and offline test). Therefore when you complete taking a quiz or assignment, you will be brought back to the Materials page and not the next material (in the same section or next section).
In future, we will enhance this workflow to show the link of the next material for assessments as well.
As an instructor, you will be able to navigate to materials with future publish date, or those which are in draft mode in addition to the published materials, when you are on the last page of a lesson. Although, learners cannot view unpublished materials or materials with future dates and therefore will only see the link to the next material they can view/attempt.
Q) Is this feature dependent on the lesson progression feature?
A) This feature has no dependency on the lesson progression feature.
In case lesson progression is enabled, and the next lesson to read is not accessible to the learner because he/she has skipped the previous pages of the current lesson, then the next button will be disabled and learner will not be able to navigate to the next material without reading the pending lesson pages of the current lesson.
Q) Can instructors navigate to the next unpublished material from the last lesson page of a lesson?
A) As an instructor, you will be able to view materials with future publish date, or those which are in draft mode in addition to the published materials when you are on the last page of a lesson. Although learners cannot view unpublished materials or materials with future dates and therefore will be see the link to the next material they can view/attempt.
Q) Can users navigate to the next offline test?
A) No, you can navigate to a lesson, quiz or an assignment from the last lesson page. This is because learners can not make submission to an offline test.
