Copying lessons from Global Lesson Bank

In case you are a group of institutes / enterprise clients who uses different Teamie instances / sites and want to be able to share lessons between the different Teamie sites, you can do it with the Global Lesson Bank. A Global Lesson Bank works similar to how lesson banks work in Teamie. Similar to how lesson bank allows you to copy and reuse any lesson that is shared publicly on your Teamie site, Global Lesson Bank allows you to copy and reuse any lesson that is shared globally across different Teamie sites that are linked to each other. The action of sharing a lesson to a Global Lesson Bank is referred to as "Pushing to Global Bank".

Lessons pushed to the global bank will have a copy created that will be independent of the original lesson. These cannot be edited in the global bank, though if the original lesson is edited the global bank copy can be updated through the Update action. Lessons can be imported into a classroom from the global bank which will create another independent copy of the lesson. This imported lesson can then be edited without affecting the global bank copy.

This article will guide you on:

Updating the global lesson bank copy of the lesson with changes from the original lesson

It is recommended to always update the global bank copy of the lesson from the original lesson before copying the lesson in your classrooms. This will ensure that you get the latest version of the lesson that you wish to copy to your classroom.

Let's consider the following use case:

  • An instructor (John Baur) pushed a lesson (Laws of thermodynamics) having three pages to the Global Lesson Bank.
  • John then decides to add few more pages to the same lesson but has not pushed the recent changes made to the lesson to Global Lesson Bank. For example, John Baur has added one more page to this lesson.
  • Now, If an another instructor (Sarah Woodman), whose account is created on Training Demo site, accesses the Global Lesson Bank, then the instructor will still see three pages in that lesson instead of 4 until the author updates the copy of the lesson from the original copy.

In this article, we will demonstrate how to update the global lesson bank copy of the lesson to include changes made to the original lesson.

5. Click Update icon to update the global bank copy of the lesson with changes from the original lesson present in the first site.
