As an instructor, you can break your class into a number of teams, and have multiple teamsets for different projects or needs. In addition to sharing materials with the whole classroom, you can choose to personalise the learning by sharing materials (assignments, quizzes and offline tests) with either individual learners and/or group of learners (teams). Personalised learning leverages the power of materials by giving you the ability to share them with particular individuals or teams.
Personalised learning should be enabled on your Teamie site to use personalised assessments. Contact you site administrator for the same.
Only learners who are part of the team with which material(s) are shared, or if they were individually assigned the material(s) would see them on their materials page view. Other learners would not see the material(s).
This article will guide you on:
You can share an assignment, quiz and offline test with team(s). Once you share an assessment with one or more team, it will not be accessible to others in the classroom, unless you specifically share it with other individual(s) or team(s). All the members of the teams, to which the assessment is shared with, will have access to the assessment. Learners will be able to quickly filter assessments shared to the teams that they are part of by using the dropdown on the classroom material page.
Similar to how you can share assessments with team(s), you can also share an assignment, quiz and offline test with individual learners. Once you share an assessment with one or more learners, it will not be accessible to others in the classroom, unless you specifically share it with other individual(s) or team(s). All the individual learner(s), to which the assessment is shared with, will have access to the assessment. Learners will be able to quickly filter assessments shared individually to them by using the dropdown on the classroom material page.
As an instructor, you will be able to filter your classrooms' materials view to see all the personalised materials (lessons and assessments) with the help of 'Personalised only' filter. This will help you quickly sort the materials that have been shared either with team(s) and/or individual learner(s). Let's see how you can filter all the personalised materials in a classroom.
1. On the homepage, hover over the required classroom and click Materials.
2. On the Materials page, tick the Personalised only checkbox.
3. All the personalised materials (lessons and assessments) will be filtered and shown to you as per the sections they are in.
If you have collapsed a section initially, then it will remain collapsed and you would have to expand the section to see the personalised materials for that section, if any.
You cannot sort materials while viewing a filtered list. Although, you can sort sections as a whole.
4. In case a section doesn't have any personalised assessments, it will be shown blank once the filter is applied.
As an instructor, you will be able to filter your classrooms' materials view to see what materials been shared with Everyone i.e. are common lessons or assessments, or select a team or individual learner to see the learning materials shared with them. This will help you quickly sort materials for different learners and teams on a broader level and see how a learner/team in your classroom views the materials.
1. On the homepage, hover over the required classroom and click Materials.
2. By default the materials shared with Everyone will be listed on the classroom Materials page, i.e. the common lessons or assessments for the classroom.
3. Click the Everyone drop-down and select the required learner whose Materials view you wish to view.
4. The Materials view for the required learner will be shown. You can see from the following screenshot and the screenshot in the above Step that the 'Quiz - Non-verbal communication' was not shared with the selected learner 'Exavier Costa' and therefore will not be shown to him in Materials view of his classroom.
1. On the homepage, hover over the required classroom and click Materials.
2. By default the materials shared with Everyone will be listed on the classroom Materials page, i.e. the common lessons or assessments for the classroom.
3. Click the Everyone drop-down and select the required team whose Materials view you wish to view.
4. The Materials view for the required team members will be shown. You can see from the following screenshot and the screenshot in the above Step that the 'Quiz - Non-verbal communication' was not shared with the selected team 'Team B' (of Teamset One) and therefore will not be shown to the Team B members in Materials view of their classroom.
You can also use the Materials view filter for learner(s) and team(s) in conjunction with the Personalised Assessments in a classroom filter.
Personalised assessments can be tagged as formative or summative (like any other assessment on Teamie). However, a % weightage for the summative personalised assessments cannot be assigned. Therefore, you cannot add weightage to an assessment that has been shared with team(s) or learner(s). Similarly, you cannot share an assessment with weightage > 0 with team(s) or learner(s). As these assessments cannot have weightage, they will not influence the final score/grade calculations. Hence, the classroom gradebook and the rubric view will not have any personalised assessments.
1. The learner gradebook will list all assessments that a learner can access. Click the required learner from the classroom Gradebook page.
2. Tick the Personalised Only checkbox to filter the personalised assessments available for the learner under the respective sections.
You can also use the 'View Classrooms By', 'Type', and 'Summative/Formative' filters in conjunction to further narrow down the search.
In case a section doesn't have any personalised assessments, it will be shown blank once the filter is applied.
